I bought some cases like pic related and I keep most of them stowed away in my closet, and I usually have about a dozen or so lined up or scattered across my desk at any given moment. Then I just swap them out every so often as the mood strikes me.

I couldn't imagine picking up those tubs and all the cars sliding and crashing into each other. Makes my skin crawl. Why not switch to the thread organizers from JoAnn? Each one holds roughly 50 cars.
