>>6402990Sure, this is basically all I did.
>unscrew ratchet assembly using seibertron's fix guide>instead of cutting the spring and shaving the plastic cross just insert plastic between teeth>ratchet is gone and is now a friction joint.I was using someone else's guide but tried to elaborate on what needed to be done, in pics, will follow up if the guy who came up with the idea finds a fault.
> Put something between the teeth of the ratchet. I have used this because it is the least destructive. The ratchet marked in blue naturally slides down the cross marked in yellow as part of its normal movement to clear the upper ratchet which is at nearly the same height. I initially tried a 20c piece, but it is too thick. You need something thin enough to sit between the cross and the teeth of the upper ratchet but firm enough that it is not going to get chewed by the teeth. Eg. card is not going to work. Thin rigid plastic seems to work. >The ratchet stops being a ratchet and becomes a friction joint with the spring providing the tension to hold Trypticon upright. Because the teeth of the ratchet can’t mesh, there is no immovable object the leg won’t get jammed and you can’t apply too much force. I sent him a ms paint image of what I thought he was intending and in the end this is what I assumed he did, so far the legs are indeed friction, he doesn't recommend having devastator ride him after mods though or during certain poses.
Just gonna screw up the other leg and then give him a full test run, wish me and trippy back...I don't have the receipt to return him.
Also yes that's the bottom of a yogurt cup, I cut it further than pic related but its still fugly
