>>10478988I am 27, still in Uni and my parents buy all of my toys. I got into 1/6th some years back, and between them, JoyToy 40K and comic book Omnibus, I waste about 600 on them per month. At this point it all just feels kind of... pointless. I learned of 1/6th about a decade ago, bought an HT SM3 Spider-Man for nearly 150€, and then just abandoned it. No X-Men on the market, no FF, no Dr. Strange yet, Iron Man was getting too many armours to bother so I figured I'd wait, and I didn't buy anything else until around 2020. Since then I've been buying a figure or two a year. Now I'm buying more, have 4 on PO, but it's... eh. I have to wait another 4-5 years for a Doom. I have to make due with the shitty MCU designs and casting. HT releases 2.0s every other year. Pleather that flakes. InArt makes HT look like toys, but InArt's not making any characters I love enough to drop 600€ on. Yeah woopee, Pennywise; who gives a fuck, I want Magneto and Solid Snake if I'm dropping that cash, you know? The JT40K stuff keep coming and I keep buying, but now I'm getting bored of them and am far more selective. Mafex, Figma, Mezco and all that jazz have too many flaws and I the characters I love still don't have any such figures, but I do long for a figure I can actually play with and not be worried that looking at it wrong will make it fall apart.
I don't know, after spending so much for some time now I feel kind of bored and wanting to reign myself in a bit. But because the figures I truly want in the scales I want them are so far away, I keep compulsively buying and setting up more displays just to keep me going until then. I don't know.
