Hi, I have never painted and I guess the steps to follow to have a paint that lasts over time, does not flake, can be handled without risk, can resist shock and water on PVC flexible is not the same process as the treatment given to figures in 3D printer resin.
The object I want to repaint is this "Smoke Dragon" from Safari LTD. I want all the orange, red, and yellow areas to take on turquoise green tones (mainly), with a little turquoise blue.
Before applying an undercoat, should I sand? If yes, with or without water?
What value should sanding paper have? 120? 80? Less ? More ?
Can I undercoat completely with a brush?
What type and brand of paint could hold up well, while still having a clean finish on a PVC toy? How many coats of paint?
Should I apply varnish? What brand and type?
Are there any other steps I forgot to mention?
Thank you in advance, hoping to achieve my goal.
