>neighbor kid's house had a huge alcohol display case in a secluded attic room that was renovated into some nice study>top shelf had several very expensive bottles in these little wooden boxes.>supposedly they belonged to his grandpa>i had my green army men i would bring to his house, so while he was taking a shit or something i climbed up on a chair and hid the little radio comms army man in one of the boxes. >thought i'd come back for him in a few days but totally forgot about him>fastfoward like 8 years later, high school, at a house party at this neighbor's house>had a few beers in me>wandered upstairs alone, found the little third floor attic/study room and instantly remembered the fucking army guy i put there years before>the alcohol box was still there>said "pappy van winkle" something reserve in this lord of the rings looking text>opened it up, my fucking radio guy was still in there tucked behind the little paper shaving things the bottle rested in>i fucking hollered in excitement i was overcome with emotion, i actually shed a little tear because it was like i was reminded of my childhood, saw how much older i became and how much has changed, but also at the same time still actively had a toy collection and drunkenly "telekinesis radio'ed in" to my collection at home and pretended to hear them all cheering in the background>drank some of the fucking pappy bourbon. didnt realize exactly how expensive it was but honestly i dont feel bad at all because i fucking dare someone to tell me a cooler occasion to drink this formy theory as to why it was there so long is maybe someone did open it and saw it, but the grandpa was a WW2 veteran and the toy is actually a WW2 soldier so maybe someone thought the grandpa left it there
