It does sort of disturb me how all these Hong Kong toy companies are basically waiting a few years after a JP company does a toy, then makes their own for cheaper. The Chinese versions are often improvements, but its a parasitic system. They need the Japanese toy to exist to create their better versions. At this point they don't need JP toys to make their own for basic SHF style figures, but with mecha they're still reliant on copying Bandai/sentinel ideas. And even with their figures, they still largely rely on engineering from years ago.
But they're cheaper, have a ton of companies that don't rely on licenses, can crank out more per year; its going to be a huge threat to Japan, moreso than the US industry.
