It never ceases to baffle me how Anpanman is always in top 5 media titans despite not being a world-class IP. I hardly ever see any products from it in Japan's stores or homes, I know the books are huge but what else is there to it even? Years ago I saw a Japanese girl on twitter showing off her Anpanman set of confections she got on Valentine's day and that's it. I actively watch what Japan is into and it's into a lot of things but Anpanman is not one of them. FFS he doesn't even have a nendo.or a funko pop.
