I'm not bothered by the IDW styling, but it's certainly what made him a hard toy to design. If they had stuck to his G1 design more, his Transformation could have been much more straightforward instead of having so many panels and kibble.
I really like his ankles, though, makes him very posable, and his alt mode is one of my favorites in the Legends scale.
