I said this shit when people thought the DBZ line was dead like 5 years ago: If your main character isn't fucking accessible, new collectors aren't going to buy the supporting cast. The first SS Goku sold the fuck out and was reaching the same price, and what do you know: as soon as re-issues and SDCC recolors started happening, the line gained momentum. Lo and behold, I was 1000% right and now the community is huge. It's almost like nerds who don't know shit about business and marketing actually have more aptitude for it than people who make this sort of thing their entire career.
I'll buy the fuck out of Beerus, Whis, Gold Frieza, and Blue Vegeta, but I'm not doing it if fucking Goku is missing because Banda doesn't understand this concept. Toy collectors are autistic about completion, or at the very least having THE MAIN CHARACTER.
This is why I don't have a problem with bootlegs and will buy good ones if the company is too stupid to take a hint. Just turn on that money printer again. It takes one look at Amazon to see this shit.
