So I picked this fella up recently and I wanna talk about him a little.
Overall, he's nice. VERY flawed, but still nice.
Pros:
>alt mode is just beautiful
>aesthetic in both modes is a nice blend between the G1 toy and the G1 cartoon which is what I look for in MPs
>articulation has all of the BASIC needs of a figure
>accessories are nice
>all of the racing logos are actually the real brands instead of made up nonsense to avoid legal action
pretty ballsy of them
>offers weapon storage in alt mode
>offers display options for both the door wings and the front tires in bot mode
>the gray pieces have a slight metallic flecking to them which keeps them from looking as flat and drab as most pictures.
It's kind of like MP36's slightly metallic gray paint.
>transformation has some neat and interesting things going on
>he cleans up pretty nicely in bot mode
Cons:
>hollow chest that also sticks out too far
Not noticeable from most angles but it's not pretty to look upwards toward him
>articulation ONLY covers the basics. No double jointed elbows or knees
>ankle articulation exists but is so limited that it barely matters
This one is a real shame because there was definitely room to make it better without having to change much, if anything, about the rest of the figure or transformation
>that Chinese prick who snuck his name into the sculpt to fuck TaRO over
I can't read Chinese but I know it's there and where it is and just knowing about it does detract from the figure
>no alt mode storage for the grappling hook
>using the speaker accessories in alt mode WILL chip the spoiler paint
seems to be the ONLY paint I've had chip on him, even through several transformations, but it's in a pretty noticeable area.
>Still would have much preferred actual silver paint instead of the gray
>transformation is still kind of fiddly and thanks to a few overly tight tolerances, some steps can be a bit scary to pull off
>shoulder transformation is wonky and doesn't always like to stay in place
