>>8760379Because compared to previous years there's been barely any announcements. Ignoring Statueshit announcements, all we've gotten this year so far was:
>Majority of GSC's announcements are saying "Hey we're still working on this thing, check it out later next week instead of at WonFes though">Only one new Revoltech shown (Iron Spider), Kaiyodo is doing some other neat stuff with that Digital Garage Kit line but it's obviously nowhere near the amount of stuff they usually show>Art Storm had a few new announcements but again, few compared to previous years>Sentinel's only announcement was that a color prototype of their previously announced SRX will be shown later this month>Medicos announced a couple JJBA/FOTNS S.A.S.s but only as sketches, no physical prototypes yet>Kotobukiya was a no-show and announced they'd be doing their own thing later this month>Daibadi showed off a single prototype sketch>Takara Tomy was a no-show>Three-Zero was a no-show>Aoshima was a no-show>Wave was a no-show>All the model train dudes like Kato or Tomix were a no-showThere is absolutely nothing that the majority of people on /toy/ give a fuck about at WonFes this year since most of the companies either only showed off 1 or 2 announcements or decided to host their own webshows instead.
>But Garage Kits!!!Are not something every /toy/ soldier is interested in putting together/painting, let alone going through the hoops and hurdles of finding a garage kit you want across Japanese Twitter, finding a guy in japan that's willing to go to WonFes and buy that kit for you (Or in this year's case place an order online for you), and ship it out to your own country. I mean sure, you COULD just take a trip to Japan and attend WonFes yourself during a normal year where it's not virtual, but most people aren't willing to pay ~$1200 for a round trip to Japan, ~$500 for staying at a hotel for a week, and whatever else for transportation/food expenses just to pick up a ~$50 Garage Kit.
