I mean, a lot of import shit doesn't double or triple or quadruples in price like American toys do, mostly because Japanese shit is already expensive for what it is. So that Sentinel figure in my pile only goes for twice what he originally cost me. Only $350. Not even a 2x price increase.
Whereas shit like McFarlane figures used to cost $13 at retail but sold for $80 - $120 on ebay. So almost 10x. Now they're going for $30-50, which is still a hefty 3-4x increase.
Same with the Halo Dare toys i've been army building. Just two years ago i'd buy them for $30-40, either loose or in package still. now they're going for $50-80. So that increase was from 4-9x in the secondary market, from when it originally sold for around $9.
I expect these to drop off thanks to Wicked Cool Toys finally making figures for the older Halo characters.
Pic is one of the few Japanese toys that went to insane levels, but prices have dropped significantly to where you can buy it for under $100 at times.
I'm sure most of you poorfags have noticed that prices do peak relatively fast and don't hold your toys longer for 5 years.
