>>11058143Depends on what type of paint you use. Definitely needed for enamels. Can get away with spraying acrylic and lacquer paints straight on plastic, but may have some issues like peeling or such. Also helps to even out the color when you are changing from the original. I find primer to help give a nice even smooth coat, especially with metallics.
