>>9552530The fact that these sets were not perfectly polished or complex in their build is what made them a great toy. As a kid, I'd look at a set like this and see the blacksmith tools, castle walls and accessories and already start to imagine what I could add or build onto it or use the parts for.
I really dislike the idea of lego sets being single-use models for kids. At a certain complexity, there's nothing left to finish off and it feels like a chore to rebuild. Not to mention how even kids view sets as "rare" or "investments" today. Lego should be about making your own thing and creating your own stories for it.
