paint's still like that, regardless of whether it contains asbestos or aids, which gets labeled as toxic and dangerous only in first world countries. The shit companies like Hasbro/Mattel/Bandai care about is stuff that can be licked or ingested.
The dangerous fumes (dried paint is perfectly fine though) from the paints is something Chinese factories need to solve on their own. And China uses some really bad shit that is banned in the US, despite clean rooms and masks being a thing.

Lube is left on from the manufacturing process and you can feel it when handling practically every brand out there.
I'm a bit of a tactilephobe when it comes to that greasy feeling, so i started to wash my figures. Only real benefit you actually get from this is that dust doesn't stick on as easily, since that lube acts like a shitty glue.

Also, fuck dirty chinaman germs and their unwashed hands spreading their shit particles everywhere.
