It's usually depicted as more evil than good in most fiction, but it's an unmistakable iconography that contrasts the kind of entities that are depicted to align with the side of Heaven. Also pretty funny to think that early arguments for and against foreign beliefs can boil down to "your god is trash, practically the devil himself. Mine's better anyways"
