>>8123839>It doesn't matter what the standards at the time were.Missing the point much?
Again, his pushing for more articulation is what led to other companies also doing the same. This is how new standards are created. Progressively.
>Why wouldn't he give us fully articulated figures instead of semi-articulated statues if he could?Because he's McFarlane and basically only put in the articulation where the joints could be hidden or less obvious. Still doesn't change the fact he was pushing for more and more articulation, which led to others copying him.
>So you admit you don't know what you're talking about?Because i bought the toys after the fact? Nevermind i was still buying toys and started talking with the creators at conventions. Just because i slowed down my collecting doesn't mean i stopped or lost interest.
>They're statuesMight as well call early Toy Biz figures statues too then. Don't be dumb. McFarlane's early 00 figures are still plenty poseable, more so than Toy Biz's 90s crap.
>The sculpting and paintwork on the older figures are superior and the newer figures literally look like they tried to make the same semi-articulated statues and then cut the shit out of the to add in the joints.I'm talking about his early 00s stuff, which is all better than his 90s stuff and a bit behind his mid-00s stuff.
His new figures are made literally the same way Hasbro, Bandai, Mattel, etc are made. Only his Color Tops (some of them anyway) and the KS are skewed, and the KS only has the torso part skewed, unlike the Color Tops and the majority of his 00s work (some of color tops waaay less so than the 00s stuff).
>I often wonder whether Todd feels like his figures have been raped after the joints have been inserted into the plastic using force.I doubt it.
The entire point of his creating this Kickstarter is because he has been constantly asked to make stuff like he did in the in the 00s. He's just responding to demand, even the articulation want
