I was a hardcore Primaris hater, but the toys were actually so good that I no longer care at all. And you can literally get Intercessors for as cheap as $20 shipped now, so it's very low-risk. This is honestly one of the greatest toylines I have ever experienced in my 25+ years of collecting virtually every line under the sun.
Oh, and a ton of 3D printed pre-Primaris parts are available. Slap an old helm on there and it fools the eye enough unless you're really nitpicky about the small details.
