When pressed, the back splits open as the ballista swings up through it.The head swings in on it's own spring, having been held up by the back flaps and ballista buttend. In turn, the ballista bottom bonks him square in the face, making the beak fold flush in the body.
His beak also has a lower jaw, but most pictures online don't seem to show that off.
The wings are indeed stuck in that tucked away position. The deployers weren't great toys. But I would love to see at least Rav and Chro get updated figures.
