>I can heartily recommend visiting Oarai if ever in japan.Yeah, from the pics that I have saw online, that city looks like a nice place to visit and it amaze me how the GuP anime have help in the recovery of the city's economy and improve tourist after the 2011 earthquake, I knoe that there is others anime series based on actual towns, but AFAIK no one have made an impact in the reality of the town as Garupan.
And as I understand there is GuP merch that you can only find in the Oarai town, no where else, so that's a plus, and there is a plenty of local stores that make handmade GuP merchandise that looks really neat to have IMO.
