>>7444042The GEP kits each showcase a different point of Gunpla engineering, but I agree that they often don't stand out much when viewed with their contemporary releases.
>Zeta's "Action"Articulation, mostly evident in the shoulder design. Pretty neat since that was more of an MG/RG thing prior to the AE Zeta, but otherwise not really outstanding since they were also putting out Revives with updated articulation. Wish the Barzam came out first and got the GEP tag since it's cheaper and shares the same shoulder design, but even with Japanese Barzam memes aside the Zeta's the more high-profile suit.
Now to wait for the Baund Doc.
>Unicorn's "Transformation"Self-explanatory. Truly amazing considering every previous transforming Unicorn release had been a clusterfuck, and to pull that shit off in RG form was really cool.
I'm actually surprised at the restraint Bandai's had in releasing RG Unicorn variants.
>Exia's "Lights Emitting"Definitely a step up from Bandai's previous PG and MG LEDs, although it lost some articulation thanks to the cables.
00 fans still got shafted on anniversary releases.
>Leo's "Fine Build"In my humble opinion I think this is the biggest stand-out among the GEP releases, Unicorn's wizardry notwithstanding. Bandai showed off a new, elegant joint construction; displayed great use of their multi-injection techniques to get perfect color separation without stickers; kept everything to only three runners + the generic beam saber and polycap trees; and did so for a grunt suit of all things. All at a price point of 1080 yen or less.
I envy Wingfags since they're currently getting a bunch of kits they've been clamoring for.
>Crossbone's "Extreme Detail"Looks like they're trying to faithfully cram as many of the Crossbone's gimmicks as possible into a 1/144 RG scale? Hopefully it won't be floppy, since the Sazabi was super sturdy and literally everyone, even the Japs, was expecting the Unicorn to be a handgrenade.
HG Flint fucking when, Bandai.
