to both, id recommend using super sculpey firm it can get good detail and is very easy to sculpt with. make a sculpting handle like
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mrkgviqn29Uand stick a wire armature into the handle, cover the armature in greenstuff, then before it cures coat the greenstuff in a layer of super sculpey.
you can get away with a blue stuff mold but you might as well just do resin casting with silicone.
i had struggled hard learning to sculpt until i starting using this method. the handle is a life saver.
