Got a question for those of you that restore older dolls, like Vintage Skipper Anon.
Does anyone have experience with cleaning old doll hair like this?
My mom's an antique dealer and she found this old black baby doll at a recent estate sale. (Vintage black baby dolls sell really well, she tells me.) Anyway, you can see that the hair of the doll is really rough. It's got stray lint and debris and God knows what else stuck in that curly hair. My mom asked me to clean it. "Since you restyle doll hair," she tells me. But I really don't know how to clean doll hair this old and messy while keeping the hair curly. (A reroot is out of the question.)
