I've been testing out MTN (Montana Colors $10) primer/sealer for 3 months now and I can definitively say it's a perfect replacement for Bulldog Adhesion promoter ($40 at O'Reilley's) and Mr Hobby Topcoat (7.99+ shipping for a tiny can).
The primer sprays a super fine mist, is clear, and will stick to ANY kind of plastic. It's still smelly toxic until it cures (about 10 mins) so use it outside! The semigloss and matte sealer is amazing and makes a super hard coat on top of any paint. The primer doesn't make rubber sticky but the sealer does, so don't spray bendy arms or capes with the sealer.
Any kind of hobby paint no matter the quality will stick to this primer but so will anything else like rubbing/marring of painted figures. You must paint over or seal over the primer or it'll pick up paint/pigment from objects.
