Seeing this toy makes me wonder about nu-Tarantulus. Whenever he's coming. Nu-Skorponok's beast mode looks much closer to a real scorpion than his original toy.
So next year's(?) spiderbot should look much more like a spider than whatever this freak is.
I'm not sure about the original toy, this is the only Tarantulus I got, but all the purple is actually translucent plastic. It doesn't play nice visually with light, and is see through when held up to it.
I know it's a big ask for the era but I wish the legs were more posable. The front four have one point of movement on a very restricted ball joint, more of a swivel really. The back four legs are completely immobile.
If the new toy has nice posable legs do you think it will be able to stand on them? Or drag itself around on its belly like every other spider toy ever?
