I don't know if the punched rivets will be realistically possible to manipulate though at that size, or if you can find such a needle without a lot of luck. But at whatever scale makes the rivets that small, would hey really bi visible at all? Have any perceivable thickness? Maybe just grab your finest detail brush and dab on some paint for it, that could perhaps get the thickness to scale.
