>>9989369>Only proving how overrated they are.Oh no! People liking toys you don't! Le gasp!
>Pretty much. And it's been the same shit since 11 years ago, except now everything is looking worse, instead of the just shitty realistic sculpts. How fucking so? Compare the newer Kamen Rider Figuarts to the originals. The old ones were fine toys, on the whole well built and definitely hand candy, but they were clearly toys. The new ones are still amazing playthings but also look like someone shrank the actual suits without resorting to seamless gimmicks. How on earth is this looking "worse" or indeed anything other than a straight improvement?
>ib4 everything else is shitNo, lots of companies make cool stuff, and they all have their strengths. Revoltechs have really innovative engineering and a really cool distinctive look. JoyToy's 40K stuff manages to perfectly balance paint detail without being overdone, and are also really fun toys that are army-buildable but still enjoyable solo (rare for 1/18). Likewise McFarlane's 40K stuff is the most customizer-friendly non-model-kit toyline on the market, and pretty decent figures too. Mythic Legions are like poseable versions of Schleich's awesome fantasy toys and give me oddly nostalgic recollections of the old LOTR figures, except actually good without the rosetinted glasses. Bandai is definitely one of the kings though.
>and bandai, a company who has been making toys for 60 years,Yep, they know more about toy design than you.
doesn't know any better and is still learning
The toy industry will ALWAYS be learning, because that's how technology works. Some bright spark could find a way to make poseable seamless toys viable outside of short-lived mini sexdolls you can't even fuck, rendering every single prior toy somewhat obsolete. There will ALWAYS be a better version of a toy eventually. The difference is Bandai is always striving to make it themselves.
