>>6746711You're lucky its a hg model kit, it won't look like the pictures when you're done but it can still look good, my tips
>buy plastic cutters/nippersDon't use metal cuters/nail clippers like I did jesus
>buy scalpel/model knife/craft knifeYou can also use sand paper (smoothest, mid strength don't bother with the roughest) as well but this is for cleaning up the cut marks, otherwise ignore if you're fine with bits of plastic sticking out, if you're good with the nippers just rub the marks left by the nippers with your nail to compress the plastic condensing the mark while providing a slight color match
>gundam markergotta add color to the etchings/surface details if you want something slightly better, alternatively sharpie or even a pencil works, for that zaku black works best but for white models its gotta be grey
>top coat spray canSomething plastic safe, I personally prefer tamiya matte coat but if you want it to shine (but risk plastic nubs being exposed) gloss works, house paints that are plastic safe can work but you need to step the fuck back with these cans because of the pressure, you may skip this step completely
Just follow the guide, work slowly, and try to be exact, with joint parts before sandwiching parts make sure everything lines up and makes sense, DO NOT assume it makes sense once closed because if it can't move because you put a joint upside down its a bitch to open back up again
>a-are you spoon feeding him?Doesn't seem like the guy who wants to get into the hobby, if he likes it he can bug the plamo general for more, otherwise what I've given him works for the lazy person who doesn't want to fuck around with pre-shading with air brushes with weathered battle damaged masterpieces, as long as its a step up above pic related its fine
