I use silver for a worn look, or a color that wont show as much when exposed. Top coats will help. Quality paint is less likely to chip or peel.

Also helps if you can pop those parts apart and paint them individually. The paint will hold better and you wont risk overpainting the joint and peeling the paint off when moving the joint.

Havent spotted them at target yet. Doesnt seem theyve came in here yet, but a few people have found them on instagram. Ive been looking about once a week, and usually find a fresh case of heroes, battle for the ark bags, or the drop pods and power up sets. They haven't restocked the powerup sets or drop pods since they were put out.
