I’m the anon that posted that full wave of Siege photos from last thread.
So far, on a technical level I’m pretty impressed: the figures feature more complicated transformations than most of the stuff out of the Prime Wars trilogy, and the plastic does feel of a higher quality and less rubbery. The paint apps are great, especially on the deluxes. They all still have hollow parts on them but they aren’t as pronounced as the Prime Wars stuff.
The only downsides are that the legs on all of the Micromasters universally pop off with light handling and the lack of articulation on the battlizers is shit, especially considering the existence of the LG Targetmasters. The weapon effects are a meme and I’d have preferred the budget go into articulation instead.
All that said, I feel like we’ve been here before, and that they’re kind of...boring? I actually really liked the gimmicks of the Prime Wars trilogy, and none of these figures do anything differently than Classics did. For the G1 purists out there, you’ll love this line, and I’m really happy that Hasbro listened to and improved on the fandom’s criticism of their previous output. But I don’t really feel inspired by these figures. Maybe I’ll feel differently once the Leaders come out.
