>>7161713Never say never I guess, but even when the outside is bare metal like on many mustangs etc you'll find that the inside is often covered in protective paint, like the zinc chromate the US slobbered all over everything, or the aotake used by Japan (look at the inside of open flaps, the exposed wing spars when carrier aircraft fold their wings, etc). Modern fighters are of course all painted all over. And some aircraft which may seem to be bare metal have actually been painted with a silver/aluminium dope paint or similar. The Vampire here for example has quite a lot of wood in its construction, but it's all hidden under the English "high speed silver" paint.
