My camera allows me to angle the flash, so I angle it straight upwards. Light hits the ceiling, diffusing off the white top and bouncing all through the box creating an even "coat" of white light.
A daylight-temperature light diffused to the top or sides from a lamp or lamps would create a similar effect.
