Everything Hasbro makes and has plans to make has to be approved Marvel. So those positions never disappeared.
Since you're not aware, most sculptors are indie contractors and only about 10% of toys are sculpted in-house. This is why Boss Fight Studio sculptors still sculpt toys for Hasbro despite being fired from their in house positions at Hasbro. In house artists tend to work multiple jobs too, so companies like Toy Biz and Hasbro get more uses from paying them full time and giving them health insurance.
I'm sure you heard of Gentle Giant, since Hasbro made a big deal about them when they announced they were going to be sculpting the Star Wars Black series toys. They're done a lot of work for hire shit for decades. A lot of those Gentle Giant employees had already been making toys for Hasbro before that deal happened too, but who knows about Joe Menna vs the more prestige Gentle Giant studio?
