>>9890719I haven't watch the vid but some of those Nike's at retail are near or over the H.I.S.S tank's cost. It's fine he doesn't want it but if he is saying the cost is the issue when he collects sneakers, more so costly ones, it doesn't make sense for that to be the issue as he is ok with buying products that cost something close to $20 to $40 to make but they are asking $120 to $750 and he has at least 12 in that picture.
>>9890840>What if he told you that the shoes cost more to manufacture than the Hiss tank?I'm curious how he'd figure that out, the cost of shoes is a web of pocketing everyone. Most shoes as I already stated are about $20 to $40, retail needs about double the cost to make profits so $40 to $80, meaning once you clear $100 it's getting dubious and is likely likeness or licensing issues which is basically turning shoes into what women do with clothes where they just want to show they spent a lot of money damn the quality.
> You know why everyone is stunned that McFarlane can make new molds like crazy even on licensed properties?
No one is stunned, he runs a private company not beholden to shareholders, that frees up a lot of time and money to just make what he wants and stay competitive. Mattel, Hasbro, Playmates, and many others have to keep shareholders happy which fucks everything up, more so with holding onto a license. If Hasbro's shareholders think Star Wars is the best thing ever and would lose their shit if Hasbro lost the license then Hasbro is going to hurt other brands that the shareholders don't care about to keep that Star Wars brand up. Meanwhile Todd can and has bought licenses that he used once and just tossed to the side as it was just something he wanted to say he could do because it's his money backing the company up and no one else's.
I don't have a dog in this fight but the whole thing is a complicated mess and bluntly even buying toys in general are being taken for a ride
