Sorry for the unprompted autism, but the inconsistency was annoying me a bit looking back at this part. Mainly because I feel like the protodermis-filled tubes we only see in the comics are the version that actually makes more sense - the only reason the Bahrag would have EP in their lair is to make Krana and stuff, and pulling them back out of the tube after completion seems more practical than just leaving them to float in some underground pond.
