Those joints looks great. If you're planning on stuffing around them, keep in mind that those polyfil fibers migrate, and might be a long term stiffness issue around the balls, if the fibers get wrapped around the housing.

As for faux fur, I shop with whichever vendor has what I need. Some go-to shops: CaliQuiltCo on Etsy, Fabric Empire (not a huge selection, but best prices), Fabric.com, Minky Boutique.
