>>6751262>Tipping his hat>Overconfident edgelordI couldn't disagree more, he only looked like that in Hg/Ss and his reappearance in B/W2 (which reused the same sprite) and I always felt it was to give him more of an anonymous feel. The hat tipping is even still present when he battles you in Gen 7. The whole idea of battling him in Gold/Silver was that it was YOU. You overcome your past self and reach the top of the mountain. Literally.
I'm not blaming fans for imprinting a personality on him, but I can and will when they complain that their self created idea of a non-character isn't followed.
