Ahhh excellent point, RD sculpts were definitely very stylized early in the line (ie the first RX-78 and Zaku II). I guess I just like chunkier mecha, haha.

And Perfect Strike's yellowing may have been my fault. I had it in the box (which of course is windowed to display Strike) and the back of Perfect Strike is still perfectly white, so I must have had the front of the box facing some sunlight at one point. Dangit!

I have the original MB Exia and its joints are all still perfectly tight, but granted I don't mess around with it too frequently.
