>>6024098 <- This guy, reporting.>>6024174>Why not try one of the monthly challenges in the OP?I have in the past and sometimes contribute suggestions. In fact, the last challenge in the OP is one that I suggested (although people were probably going to build scenes like that anyway). They don't normally spark my imagination, most of the time.
>>6024204>Yet still despite having a decently sized collection, still generally don't have the parts I want.Yes! This! I find that when I think of building something funny/neat/comfy/what-have-you, my mind immediately goes to the parts/colors I don't have rather than the ones that I do have.
>>6024262>What could help is to start a bigger project. Start off by thinking out what you would like to build. Sketch out a design on paper of what you would like and start figuring out bit by bit, like small challenges, how to interpret all the details in legobricks.Okay, with you so far...
>Then prototype parts out with your collection without bothering with a coherent colourscheme. Then look up what parts exist in what colours and whatnot. Then maybe even try to work out the thing in LDD or something.>These are all good suggestions, but I don't think I'm the "project management" type of builder. I'm more of an intuitive builder who sort-of kludges their way through something. Nothing against builders who do it this way, but it sort of kills the spontaneity of Lego building for me. Though having some kind of game plan in mind probably would do wonders for me.Thanks for the feedback! You are all bad enough dudes to rescue the President!
