Lego could've resolved this issue by reissueing a teridax look alike with the new ignika joints (and just call it makuta soldier) but instead they made icarax who is irrelevant. Atleast g2 had the decentcy to give us massable skull archers. All the g2 villains were cohesive.
The issue of makuta's looking so different is a reflection to legos lack of care for any continuity.
