So someone over at ACE had the bright idea to add an extra sheet to the instructions for the fuel trailer and extra fuel tank, of which you'd add either one at the very end. And then on that paper they also mention all the other stuff you should do differently for a kangaroo centurion... I've managed to save the infantry telephone and get the tow wire to reach all the way to the back of the extra fuel tank. Only one tow cable gets to play along here, the other one broke on the sprue so screw that and I eventually ended up needing to take a bit of it to lengthen the one I did use.
Now I should also have used a different upper glacis plate, but the differences there are slight and mostly hidden under the spare wheels. The notable difference left is that I apparently shouldn't have used the side skirts. Given how solidly glued in those are (not just at the top, there are three supports attaching them to the hull at the bottom as well) they get to stay on. the Aussies did keep those supports so at least they could have mounted the side skirts. This also means the nightmare of trying to make the tracks a good overall length (they seemed rather long) and then glue the upper connection there (they are two-part for each side) can be ignored.
