They are common in that almost every figure gets a Special Color version, but they are rare in that with the exception of the Birth version Heisei Godzilla and the 2 Legendary Godzillas, they only ever get one repaint and they can get them anywhere from 2 years after the original release to 8 years. I highly recommend the SCV Ghidorah, but absolutely do not buy the Mothra-Rodan Set for aftermarket price. They will probably get an SCV within a year or 2. Alternatively, if you're okay with Rodan and Mothra being slightly out of scale with the SHMA figures, you could get the Hiya Rodan and Mothra that are coming out at the end of the year.
