The reason they were fine with K'nex figures is because they can't (easily) be disassembled and mixed/matched with other figure parts.Does this deny a brickbuild Mario,Luigi and Peach? I think they would have looked cooler and even more fitting with the other characters around them if that were the case. They could even have kept their hats and crown of the current blocky figures.
