Yep, it's a marked (oh hoho) improvement from their PAK style IM, but it still suffers from the signature SHF tiny-head syndrome
It's a style we have seen from Bandai's artists time and time again. This shouldn't be shocking anymore and it makes sense that it comes from a senior artist, and it is a problem when they try to do something realistic.
