>>7803962>>7803965Yokai watch was too much of a marketing mishmash to appeal to american children. It was a collectathon RPG but the anime was just violent slapstick. The game was about battling monsters but the anime was mostly cutesy and silly. The anime even featured both versions of theme songs, which was pretty neat but may have put off viewers for either being too cool for something that wasn't, or the just didnt enjoy the funny sounding japanese one. Lastly, a lot of the merch focused on the cute guys rather than something that appeals to TMNT/pokemon fans. in the end, it was just another corporate weeb's desire to import another Pokemania thing, but it never works out as usual
