I looked a bit into this thread and decided to start a project I've been interested in for a while, being a Sonic figure that's based off of the Adventure era artwork.
I was initially going to use Jakks' regular Modern Sonic as a base for the figure, but I decided to go for the movie Sonic since his Shoes are a better base, as well as his eyes looking closer to the in game model than the Modern Sonic.
I have a few progress pics I took beforehand but I'll just use this one of the full body for now.
I put some sculpey on his head to fill out the pieces of the mould where it's shaped to look like quills, around his eyes to make bigger brows that look like the game, and filled in where his mouth is since I'll try to apply one later.
His chest also has some sculpey so his it pokes out more again like the model, and same with the shoes.
I plan on smoothing it all out with some sandpaper and other things either tomorrow or the following week, and potentially getting another modern sonic if I'm not satisfied with how the quills come out.
I've also planned on using slide on decals for his eyes since I know painting them wouldn't look good enough to me, but I'm not sure what sites would be good for things like that.
Sorry for the long post but it's just been something I'm really excited about. Any advice would be nice as well
