Looking at mine, blue and red looks like straight plastic, most of the greys are painted over with silver. The biggest issue which I saw quite a few people complaining, is the eye print misalignment. Looks to be a common occurrence.
Quick thoughts. Fun figure, all the joints are smooth and tight, nothing floppy or loose. Basic torso movement isn't a problem at all. Reminded me more of those Banpresto Gundam action figures than Bandai Robot Spirits.What bothered me was he can't do a normal "Y" pose with the way the shoulder articulation works.
I think this was a miscalculation somewhere along development, but shoulder armor piece interferes with arm rotation. I avoid rotating the arm since he doesn't really need to for posing. If you do I say pop off the shoulder armors each time. I saw this photo online so be careful.
