Likeness seems like a step down, since there have been some god-tier tries already before it. The early Black series stuff was just meh compared to what we got in 3.75" and the fact that there were like 234098243 different re-tries in 3.75". So if you didn't like one, the next year you'd see like 5 other tries.
Paint is improved in 1:12, with new techniques like the face prints, but it's nothing huge like articulation is.
Accessories went down severely, but that's unavoidable and also happened with the 3.75" figures.
Character selection is paltry in 1:12, even nearly a decade later. As mentioned before, there were like 234098234 different figures being released in 3.75" every single year until Hasbro decided that 1:12 would be the main scale for all their line. And then it became like a two dozen figures were released in a year. Absolutely tiny selection.
