Whoever sculpted it thought that just leaving giant blocks for the engineering is the same thing as ridges. Just like how the original prototype that was shown had that giant gaping knee hole.
It just lazy and half assed. They could have sculpted the ridges into the fingers, but i guess most people missed that part or was overlooked from all the bitching about the hideos knee.

GRANTED, Stikfas did have certain waves that were fragile, but the fact is that there are waves that had no problems despite being identical, which points toward it just being an issue with the plastics.

BTW, i do own 1000toys Hellboy, because I missed out on Mezco's comic versions and it's cheaper just to buy something with more articulation. They got everything right by the fingers, so it's something i could overlook.
It's insane how expensive Mezco's Hellboys are, but i guess they are still unmatched in terms of their looks.
