>>6993077>Toybiz saved Marvel from bankruptcyNo it didn't. Marvel still went bankrupt and they sold movie rights to claw out of it. They took it over but they didn't "save" anything. It's more like they watch Marvel get the shit kick out of it and wander over to check on it while stealing it's wallet. And that would be more beneficial for a comic documentary than a show called "toys that made us" because that moment in time was "toys that vulture businesses"
>Mego dolls inspired Tom Root and Seth Green to start Twisted Toyfare Theatre which evolved into Robot Chicken. You might as well just have a Mego episode which would seem pointless since they covered all the high points of Mego in the Star Wars episode
>The great scale war between 4"s (Star wars, Joe) and 5" Superheroes (superfriends, secret wars, Timmverse) of the early 80's There wasn't a scale war, Kenner/Lucas owned the TM on that scale size, no one could use that so they just went up to 4 and 5, both of which got TM by companies in hope to have the Kenner success (they didn't). They would never "war" on sizes they would do what we see in general: play straight copy cat of what is selling.
>only to finally be ousted by the modern 6" format popularised by McFarlane and later Toybiz / Neca.1:12 scale has been always a thing and in the market since the late 70s since 1 inch = 1 foot.
